Should I Learn Lightroom or Photoshop?

Photographers who are beginning in photography often ask the same question many times, “Should I Learn Lighroom or Photoshop?” because apparently both of these software products come from Adobe and are designed for photo editing.

Why Lightroom?

Lightroom isn’t merely a photo editing software, but rather more of an image management software in the sense that you can put several images at a time and apply effects to them. Lightroom is getting new features on a regular basis which makes it a powerful program to help you stay organized and be able to find photos quickly. This software is for those who want to quickly edit their multiple photos within a few seconds, as it provides an extremely easy interface for editing. It’s very easy to learn and you will find yourself dwelling into it once it happens.

Why Photoshop?

Photoshop comes handy when you really want to dig deeper while editing your photos as it provides extensive features which you won’t be able to find in Lightroom. Photoshop editing RAW images, complicated cleanup, and retouching; local adjustments involving complicated selections; applying artistic and other types of filters; and compositing images together (such as in HDR, panoramas, and creative compositing).
